| | | ID pse for strange white fungus Found in Berkshire woodland. Fascinated by candle type texture and ghostly appearance, or maybe a porcelain figurine! Whatever can it be. It was growing in an area of broadleaf trees, mainly oak and beech.
Thanks

| | | Re: ID pse for strange white fungus Thank you very much gentlemen. I am of course disappointed that it is so common! but I still like it anyway!. I have actually invested in small pocket guide for mushrooms and toadstools , so I maybe able to at least have a stab next time, but will always seek and appreciate confirmation from the experts!
Thanks for speedy id and interest.

| | | Re: ID pse for strange white fungus It's my first year photographing fungi too Kath and next year, for the first time ever, we'll have something (nature wise) to look forward to once the summer is over. Fortunately there are a lot of species that appear at other times of the year to help keep the interest ticking over.
I have only seen a couple of Helvella crispa's and I was quite excited about seeing them too.
Nice pic.
