| | | Unknown Fungi - ID please Clumber Park (1E) 25 Nov 2007
Found growing in sand. Area recently cleared of scrub.
Cap dia 30mm
Stem 30mm
These were abundant in this area (although there could be two similar sp)
Could this be a deceiver, possibly L. proxima
I did find a small young example that had white gills (photo if required)
Your comments and observations welcomed
Les

| | | Re: Unknown Fungi - ID please Hmm, the stipe looks darker than you would expect either of these Laccaria to be...Is that due to the moisture in them?

It is this image that caused me to have some doubts regarding L. laccata and to consider L. proxima. Can the gills be considered to be pale pink?
There was an abundance of these brown jobs, along with Orange Peel fungus, all growing in the sand that is so common around Clumber.
