Found growing on fallen conifer wood



Cap dia 40mm
Stem 40mm
Smell mushroomy
Several growing from the same position on the branch.

Gymnopilus hybridus/penetrans. I hate those two.

I suggest you look them up, work out the distinguishing features of each, and then decide definitively which you have. Then let me know.

Having checked FungiJohn's records for Clumber, I will settle for Gymnopilus penetrans.
