Wouldn't hazard a guess to any of those but I thought they were deserving of some good feedback. A very nice set of photos there. Absolutely love the terrain! Minley still producing then? Image 3 is a stunner

| | | Re: 4 ID please 2: no idea. I'm afraid the photo doesnot show the features.
3 and 4: Clitocybe?
1: This is an interesting species, as it is not a common one. The genera that come to mind are Panellus, Panus, Pleurotus, Lentinellus and Tapinella.
I think we can exclude most of those on basic shape and colour grounds.
One interesting feature is the gills which are branched. The only similar species I can think of is Tapinella panuoides which does have branched gills and the colour and shape are sort of right. But it grows on conifers.
What kind of a tree is that?
Here is a nice description: California Fungi: Tapinella panuoides
I am far from convinced though. Wonder if anyone else has suggestions? |

| | | Re: 4 ID please The tree in the first one is critical. If it is a conifer, then it cannot be Panellus stipticus. And if it is a hardwood, it cannot be Tapinella. Do you remember what it was? |

Do you remember what it was? | On a second inspection it was an old conifer stump and the center specimen of the trio was 4cm, so Tapinella panuoides seems probable.
