A prickly poser!
I recently added an image of a tooth fungi into the WAB fungi Gallery which is labeled as Scaly tooth -Sarcodon Squamosus. I've been looking through my Gallery and remembered seeing two similar types of this fungi. Well, they look similar and I wanted to see if someone could assist me in the clarification of correct identification.



Is this correctly identified as Scaly tooth - Sarcodon Squamosus or could it quite possibly be the Bitter Tooth - Sarcodon Scabrosus? Just trying to distinguish the differences between the two as one is considerably more rare than the other.

What do you guys think?
