| | | Re: Possibly polygramma ? Very doubtful. Mycena polygramma has a grey stem and cap. If you look closely at the stem, you will see that it is longitudinally grooved i.e. along the length. it also typically grows in small groups of 2 or 3 and not in clumps as per your photo. I have only ever seen it growing on wounds in living trees, and never on a well decayed stump.
Yours are most probably young Mycena inclinata. Note the ragged edge to the cap, and the distinctive cap shape. As they age, so the stem will darken to its characteristic colour. The two main species that grow as per your photo in large numbers on dead wood and have dark grey/brown colours are M. inclinata and M. galericulata. |  | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
