| | ID - fluorescent yellow. I have this little fungi growing in a plant pot (with a goosefoot plant). I only noticed it a few days ago and it's quite tiny (1 cm tall). The odd thing is it's fluorescent yellow. I have looked through the Gallery and can't see anything like it (similar to stinkhorn in shape, but not). If anyione can assist I will be grateful.
Here are a couple of links: The first was taken on the first day I noticed it and the second photo after 2 or 3 days (today). http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...stinkhorn2.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...-stinkhorn.jpg

| | Re: ID - fluorescent yellow. Thanks Tigerrx,
Googling the name you supplied I found a site with a few examples and a description that fits my situation at MushroomExpert.Com.
Also searching the Gallery here with "leucocoprinus_birnbaumii" returns no results.

| | | Re: ID - fluorescent yellow. Keep the soil moist, and not dry, and you might be rewarded by a large fruiting. I had some over several years in a pot with a chilli plant. I have often wondered where they come from. It might be that spores in the air germinate, which is pretty remarkable since it is a tropical species. I have also seen them in the glasshouses at Kew Gardens. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
