| | | Fungi in Garden Can anyone identify this fro me please. It is growing out of an old Liliac tree stump which I cut down about ten years ago. I cannot find it in my Fungi book. |

| | | Re: Fungi in Garden Try breaking a stem, and if red sap emerges, then it is Mycena haematopus. That is my guess. Otherwise it is some other Mycena. |

| | | Re: Fungi in Garden Today I found a few fungi that bled dark reddish brown from the broken stem, and they looked very similar to your photo, although they were a bit darker on the cap. They were growing from a crack between some concrete and an old railway sleeper in my local town centre I would agree with M.haematopus. Happy foraging. |

| | | Re: Fungi in Garden Thank you for the information. As suggested, I cut the stems and they did bleed with a dark red sap so I am pretty certain they are Mycena haematopus as you have described. My Fungi Guide mentions a number of Mycena but not this one. I think I need to get a more detailed guide! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
