I initially thought this was Boletus edulis, however the raised dark spots on the stem look different to the photos I've seen. The stem seems a bit long too - but I'm not that familiar with the species.
Confirmation of species would be much appreciated.

Bruce: Notice how the stem is covered in dark squamules on a white background. That general appearance is typical of Leccinum. Note that there is no hint of a network pattern which would suggest a Boletus. |
