| | | mornin' all Hi folks, just joined the forum and thought I would say a quick hello. Just started getting interested in fungi/mushrooms (especially edible ones) through a family member who had a book by Roger Phillips? Anyway I started reading it and found it quite interesting. I have now bought the River Cottage mushroom book, but am also waiting for a delivery of the Roger Phillips book coming into my local bookshop. I am not interested purely in edible species and would like to know more about all types found in Britain, are there any more books/websites you can recommend for identification, obviously I won't be eating anything until I have done a lot more research and managed to accurately ID a number of species. The only one I can positively ID is Psilocybe Semilanceata, but it was in my youth and haven't had the misspleasure of eating any for a good few years, not something I personally would recommend!
Cheers

| | | Re: mornin' all Hi Darren, fungi has only become a recent fascination for me - the shapes and colours really intrigued me and wanted to find out more about them - or at least get an ID. I can recognise 16 now! only a few thousand to go . Enjoy your new hobby and welcome to WAB! |

| | | Re: mornin' all I think with Phillips you have one of the best popular guides available.
There are a few good web sites, such as the Fungi of California: The Fungi of California
But you might like many of us simply use Google as a way to find a wealth of information on fungi. Although there is some misinformation out there, a lot of it is good. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
