| | | Help to ID medium-large fungus Seen at Salcey Forest this afternoon (27th Oct). Thought it was distinctive enough for me to identify from Jordan's Fungi - but sadly not the case. By the way, would you recommend a trip to Salcey Forest? I was down near Burghfield today, and it was pretty good. |

| | | Re: Help to ID medium-large fungus Thanks for the identification guys. There were several of these (see added pic below) in the same general area of the forest (about 150yds away). They have white gills and look like younger Clouded Funnels (from pics in Roger Phillips) - am I right?
Leif - Glad your Burghfield trip worked out ok. I go to Salcey Forest dog walking at least twice a week - mainly because its reasonably close to home. There aren't many large fungi about but plenty of small fungi on stumps and trunks - nothing special as far as I can tell. However, there's still a lot of forest to be covered and I live in hope.
