| | | Help with Coprinus I found a load of clumps of these growing on a fallen tree, I'm sure they're Coprinus of some sort but I'm not confident on any apart from comatus... I thought they might be micaceous but not at all sure.
At a slightly younger stage with a little mycena? growing next to them!
Anyone know what these are?
Any tips much appreciated as ever!! |

| | | Re: Help with Coprinus I suspect Coprinus micaceus.
C. domesticus is larger, and paler, and rarely grows in large clumps. One or two together is typical. It also seems to be more common in the Spring, or maybe that is just when I see them. |

| | | Re: Help with Coprinus The biggest caps (the first picture) were about 2x2cm..
There were /masses/ of these in several clumps all over this tree... I would say several hundred mushrooms in the space of about 5ft square |

| | | Re: Help with Coprinus You are in fact correct Lief. Apologies Lauriek, can't win 'em all I think the fact that I referred to a gallery photograph of mine that I had titled wrong might have set me upon false belief.
Thanks
