| | | ID confirmation please. I went out today and most of what I saw was old and wrinkled, not very photogenic at all. We had a heavy frost yesterday and no rain for weeks. But I did find these. Can you Confirm them for me please.
1. Jews Ear
2. Common Funnel Cup

2. Not enough info for a positive ID. My guess is False Chanterelle - Hygrophoropsis Aurantiaca EDIT: Don't listem to me, I'm stupid
3. Porcelain Fungus - Oudemansiella Mucida
4. Same as above...

Thats weird Goosey!
When me and my girlfriend went a fungus hunting the other day, the only two I REALLY wanted to see were Amethyst Deceivers and Fly Agaric!
As we entered the wood proper, we saw Amethyst deceivers by the gate (not 2 mins into our walk) and as we left the wood proper (a minute before we walked to the car) we stumbled over 2 large Fly Agaric!
20 odd species in betwen those two gems though and 3 hours!!

Sorry, carried away     Nick  | Try Burnham Beeches as there are lots of fallen Beech trees, especially in the northern parts. Not many Poached Egg fungi if any this year though.
