| | | Mycena? Hi All
A little rusty following some time out so would appreciate suggestions as to the identity of this little Mycena growing on a fallen Oak tree. My gut feeling is a juvenile Mycena inclinata, but probably way off.
Cap dia. 1cm, 1.5cm tall
Stem dia.2mm

| | | Re: Mycena? A good possibility ..but also there could be a chance that its Mycena haematopus.. Burgundydrop bonnet..Put in a pic just yesterday thinking the same as you ..it was with a slightly older specimen..and then it was pointed out that could be Mycena haematopus..and they were correct...

| | | Re: Mycena? I would also say Bleeding Red Mycena, Mycena haematopus. (I can't get used to the new common names imposed on us by the great and the good of mycology. SO I'll stick to the names I like.) They are quite common at the moment. |

I would agree with the ID already proposed by the previous posters

| | | Re: Mycena? Thanks All
A new one on me, but now you have pointed me in the right direction and another check of the reference books I have to agree there seems little doubt that it is Burgundy Bonnet - Mycena haematopus.
Thanks again.
