been up to our local woods yesterday and was quite surprised to find some fly agaric growing under the birch trees near the path does anyone know their peak growing period i was also wondering if i could grow them from spores in a pot in the garden ,if so could someone tell me how i understand they need to be with a birch tree but maybe theres a way ,if i can how would i be able to get some spores ,thankyou ill post some pictures of them soon |

| | | Re: fly agaric You will not be able to grow them in a plant pot as they grow in association with Birch, and apparently less commonly with Pine. This means that the mass of the fungal growth is around the roots of the associate tree, with the fungus drawing nutrients from the tree.
