I'll admit though, I had the idea, but hunting them was much more fun than making the ink. I probably did it wrong though. I do alot wrong. Like IDs

Alcohol's role in sensitizing you to various things you want to try eating, is that it strips off a layer of protection in the stomach/intestinal lining, so that the food item more easily triggers reactions. For instance a number of people are allergic to shellfish, if taken with alcohol having been consumed. Without alcohol there is no allergic reaction in some people, who would otherwise react adversely. Dr Jonathan Brostoff, one of the world's leading allergy experts, about thirty years ago now, prescribed capsules for me ( I can't remember now what they were called), but if taken before eating "on duty" in South Korea, when I hadn't a clue what was being put in my mouth, prevented the absorption of any nutrients/ allergy-triggering substances, as a means of avoiding poisoning myself whilst remaining polite to my hosts! I eat shaggy inkcaps in season regularly, with no ill effect, but I don't take alcohol, so I'm afraid I am not a suitable guinea pig for you...

A bit off thread but i counted ten different types of Fungus in my local pub garden last night during happy hour.

p.s I have never eaten a lawyers wig but i imagine i'd need a few drinks to summon the courage and to combat the stale dusty texture.

That'll be something to do with the talcum powder the Lawyer uses to keep his wig white then! At least you know it'll have been cherished in a special case and not just an old T€$co carrier bag!
