Edible Fungi

Edible fungi is always a bit of a difficult one to work and you wouldn't want to find that it's not edible edible fungi, so I photographed this shot of Fairies Bonnets in the hollow of a tree. This shot is only one of a couple of photo's, the other was in the same tree but featured hundreds of fungi.
Could anyone inform me if deer or any wildlife eat these, and are they edible, either to animals or to humans???

Edible but not worthwhile

The "fruitbodies" of Coprinus species generally don't last long. Although this species does not actually deliquesce, they will have turned black and shrivelled away to nothing before you came back to see them.

Several species of very small Coprinus come up very early in the morning, shed their spores and disappear the same morning before most people are out of bed.
