It is funny how easy it is to get distracted....
I was out taking pictures of bluebells today when I came across 4 different types of fungus -Jews ear, King Alfreds Cakes and 2 bracket fungi. It's the bracket fungi that I need help with.
I think the first is a Ganoderma but I have no idea which kind. My picture does not seem to match any in my book or the
Gallery. It was found on a tree stump (possibly oak) in deciduous woodland. It was about 15 cm across and 5 cms high. Brown on top and white underneath.
The next was on a fallen log (possible birch?). Sorry the picture is not too good. Greenish on top, whitish underneath and just a few centimeters diameter.
I really don't know much about bracket fungus. Can anyone identify them for me?
Thanks,
Jenny
