Hi everyone,

My husband found this caterpillar crawling around in the middle of the floor in his workplace. So he caught it and brought it home, as he thought it was a bit cold to leave it there.

It's about two centimetres long, and very hairy.

Would anyone be able to help me identify what kind of caterpillar this is, and give me some ideas of what to feed it? I'd also appreciate some general advice on how to look after it, or whether it would be better to let it go?

Thanks very much.
Many thanks. Jane
It was curled up on the flagstone outside tonight, its body was cold (I thought it was dead) but I brought it in to have a look (dark by the house). It did recover somewhat so I snipped a branch off the forsythia - the shrub nearest to where I found it and rested it on the branch. It is about 1½ to 2 inches long and quite chubby and round.

Any suggestions what it is please?
