| | | One good egg I was in Tesco today looking for some organic eggs when I noticed "one good egg"..
All the profit from sales goes to fund community egg farming projects in Africa.
I don't feel comfortable buying eggs from abroad because of the unethical way they treat animals they don't have the same standards in other countries as the UK but this looks a good idea have you heard of these before. |

| | | Re: One good egg Here is the link to them. One Eggs | One Difference
I think yours are the ones I normally buy.
These are actually British free-range organic eggs I couldn't see anywhere on the box that said this, but I will be buying these in future I think its good to support good causes like this.

| | | Re: One good egg Sounds like a good thing! I'll keep an eye out (though I prefer eggs from my mum's chickens that she keeps down the garden. Not always available though, as there is a huge demand from the neighbours!) |

| | | Re: One good egg I belieive there's enough pressure on Wild Life in Africa without trying to increase farming there , by sponsoring any Goat, Cow or Egg projects.
There are increasing populations, and I read more and more about 'Rogue' elephants or other grazing wild animals having to be chased away or even shot, becuase of them 'rampaging' / 'tresspassing' the farmers crops.
Some of these crops are Cash Crops ( not eggs !) that are grown to be sold thousands of miles away - at for example Tesco. Carbon footprint, anyone?
Thanks but no thanks. |

| | Re: One good egg One Good Eggs are British free range organic eggs packaged and distributed by Noble Foods (who also supply for Eggs For Soldiers) for The One Foundation, a British charity who donate all profits to like for like causes in Africa. The profits from the sale of the eggs fund start-up chicken and egg farms in Malawi and South Africa. See www.onediffrenece.org - they are a fantastic charity and their is no carbon footprint from their products as they are all British sourced.

I think this is a great idea so will keep on buying One Good Egg.
Yes there is a lot of pressure on wildlife in Africa but don't believe this project is part of that, this scheme allows a few people in their village to have a few chickens so they have an income selling eggs also to feed their families and not rely on government handouts. |

However, as you say, it's as well to buy as locally as possible and there are plenty of free-range/organic sources now in the UK!
A good thing!
