Still I do like the idea of the Highway Maintenance budget funding someone to go around hurling tubes of caterpillars along many kilometres of road verge.

I was tasked by a client who manages the county's road transport infrastructure to investigate bio-control. I have presented a report following research into the subject and on balance, I think it's fair to say that in this case a "do nothing option" is worthy of consideration.

I'm not aware of a link but it seems that Richard Benyon has his targets.
A remarkable statement from the Minister -
"As you can see from photo above, I hate ragwort!. This may not be the big issue of the moment but I am on the warpath for those who let this vile poisonous weed spread. Chief target at the moment is the Highways Agency." |

| | | Re: Ragwort Control Ha! I made my first ever comment on Facebook to join the growing chorus of disapproval and now, two hours later, Mr Benyon has removed his ill-judged remarks and all the responses. He's left the picture up though.
EDIT: And it appears I have been blocked from commenting on said photo. How lovely to see that our MPs are willing and able to engage with the electorate.

Come on, Mr Benyon, please reveal yourself if you are/have popped into this venerable forum. We'll offer you the traditional welcome and some civilized comment. "Ha! I made my first ever comment on Facebook to join the growing chorus of disapproval and now, two hours later, Mr Benyon has removed his ill-judged remarks and all the responses."
Let's hope the Honourable Gentleman has taken on board the comments. |

Another MP who as the famous quote has it is " neither right nor honourable and certainly not a gentleman"
