"Since 1980, NEC has been given a total of £20 million in regional
selective assistance to support the West Lothian plant. It is possible
£2.4 million of that could be paid back . A Scottish executive spokesman said: "We don’t want to jeopardise any plans they have for re-opening the plant by demanding the return of any grants. We will see what happens."
