| | | Scattering Water I think we ought to scatter our wastewater onto gardens so that it brings worms to the surface for the benefit of wild birds. It seems such a shame to donate our wastewater to the seas when it can be recycled. |

| | | Re: Scattering Water I research the medical impacts of climate changes.
I appears to me that Scots suffer more per capita medically than do the English. I put this down to lower atmospheric air pressures in Scotland.
My research this far indicates some clustering of motor neurones disease, obesity, asthma, Altzeimers disease, eyesight deterioration, depression and chronic fatigue syndrome among others. This is cause for concern for all Scots because they must find the money for present and future medical care. |

Lower atmospheric air pressure? |

Who do you work for ? , has this research been subjected to peer review or been published and if so where ?
I ask because as far as i know there is no evidence that atmospheric presure is lower in scotland (except on the tops of mountains obviuosly) in fact it is difficult to see how it could be because this would result in constant wind blowing from the areas of high pressure to the area of low.
in fact such a wind is blowing at the moment as a quick glance at a weather map shows , but it does not do so constantly - and the weather map also shows the low and high pressure systems moving on a daily basis.
The clusters you cite have other explanations obesity and astma are largely to do with diet and thus cluster appear in low income areas, eye sight deterioation is not a disease per se but a symptom - and may be linked to diabetes or lack of vitamins , again commonly clustered in poorer areas. The SAD and depression probably relates to lack of daylight in the winter - a well documented problem at higher lattitudes , plus also possibly to areas which are depresed economically.
causes of altziemers and MND are not widely understood but I have never heard of them being linked to air pressure (and I went out with a researcher for the MND association for nearly a year) While the Chronic fatigue syndrome / ME - has been recently discovered to be neurological , and possibly relasted to exposure to organophosphates - My sister has been a sufferer for over 10 years and this has never been linked to air pressure.

| | | Re: Scattering Water Motor neurone - Cause unknown
Obesity - Poor diet, lack of exercise
Asthma - The exact cause of asthma isn't fully understood at present
Alzheimer’s - The underlying cause of Alzheimer's – what actually triggers the changes in the brain – is still not known
Eyesight Deterioration - Most common aviodable cause is diabetes - poor diet
Depression and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome - Lack of exercise is a significant contributor to depression CFS Unknown although some people appear to develop CFS after a viral or bacterial infection, though it is not the same as the normal fatigue that often follows immediately after a bad infection like flu. Glandular fever is a common trigger
Your study seems fatally flawed to me

I just can't see the link...
