I heard something briefly on the news the other day but didn't take much notice at the time. Didn't realise how big this tornado was..

Some very scary looking photos there, I hadn't realized there had been so much damage done, by these recent tornadoes. I hope no one on here has any friends or family in this area.

I've just got back this morning from a weeks stay in Cincinnati. We were on the very outskirts of the storm and i have never experienced such powerful weather. There was so much rain it was like a waterfall down the windows. The winds had the trees swaying until the branches almost touched the ground. We moan about our weather but we are really very lucky in comparison.

I feel so bad about the tornados in joplin, my thoughts on the families who lost loved ones and their homes. My parents and most of my family live in Minnesota and live with this sort of thing on a regular basis and got tornados touch down nearby where they live with the same storm. I'm so thankful they didn't get hit, and I worry all the time.

I know a couple of friends who live in Missouri, luckly it missed them but i do feel sorry for the folks who got hit in Joplin and i hope the rebuilding is going ok. I know tornadoes are pretty normal in that and other states but from what i have seen i think they all got hit hard this season and my thoughts are with all of those affected.
