| | | Tsunami spare a thought Watching since very early this morning I have been both fascinated and saddened at the carnage in Japan and the other areas that will recieve some of this earthquake/tsunami's fury. Spare a thought for thes unfortunate people.

As if the earthquake and tsunami weren't bad enough, the Japanese government has declared a state of emergency because the cooling system failed in a nuclear reactor in the affected area.

| | | Re: Tsunami spare a thought We are so lucky here on this little island of ours. Yes we suffer weather, minor tremors and the odd inundation of water through a freak storm, floods and high tides but we have got it fairly easy here. We all moan about the weather (I do) but I think I'd rather put up with grey skies rather than suffer the wrath of the planet as so many other people have to around the globe.

| | | Re: Tsunami spare a thought Yeah I've had this on in the background at work all afternoon, very sad indeed.
Should make us all think twice next time we're complaining about the weather here!!

| | | Re: Tsunami spare a thought Dreadful, but it does look as though at least they can keep the death toll down as Japan seems to be prepared & well organised for these sort of events. Still a terrible thing to happen & must be terrifying to be in the middle of it. Lets hope the rest of the tsunami zones can be evacuated in time.
I'll take this occasional (Ok then, a lot of the time!) grey & miserable isle any time.

| | | Re: Tsunami spare a thought Its a shame that they can't accurately forecast these terrible tremors with more accuracy. What with Japan all along the edge of a plate & San Francisco on th eedge of another one too, there's surely more they can do. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
