is spring coming?

I saw a honeybee today which lifted my spirits.

I just hope the snow storms in American don't head our way shortly.

Starlings investigating their old nest sites in the eves and really giving it some welly singing this morning, so many singing I couldn't work out how many I was listening to!

Perhaps 'wooing' was the wrong choice of word - Frogs don't tend to practice the art of seduction but just make a grab for it! I've obviously enjoyed too many Disney and Pixar movies

Me too. Luckily, I've got 2 kids that I can blame it on.

I'm now so interested in finding frog spawn that I'm in real danger of becoming a frog voyeur. Frog porn = Frog spawn

The water in the pond is cloudy with mud, a sure sign that frogs have been churning the water up.

Aconites, snowdrops, primroses, cyclamen, sweet box and shrubby honeysuckle all in bloom now. The daphne and the lenten roses won't be far behind as the buds are getting fat and nearly ready to burst.

I fear that all this spring growth will get nipped in the bud by a harsh wind of change bringing forth snow... again!

But I guess that none of this is new to Mother Nature and things will survive.

found some daffs ready to pop in bottom of garedn today

I saw hawthorn buds yesterday, crocuses, snowdrops and daffodils were out and there was even a bumblebee! The ground she was on had been disturbed for planting, and I suspect she was woken up early - she crawled back under the leaves etc quite fast, after landing on a crocus.

I have a sweet box outside the front door a wonderful scent although nothing seems to eat the black fruit. Lost all my cyclamen coum but my cyclamen hederfolium do well here just have to wait until the autumn for the flowers. The lenten roses are about to bloom real lucky with these as we live not far from Ashwood Nurseries who have won medals at Chelsea for them.
Just prey if we get a frost its a light one through February (some hope )
