| | | Re: is spring coming? Things are moving fast in the birdworld: song recommenced around the 19th December with thrushes 'going for it' while blackbirds seem a little unsure of the 'tune' yet so some low throttle practicing complete with off notes happening - this always amuses me every year A robin has been singing in the dark at the Fire Station/By-Pass set of traffic lights - cos the area is so well lit - this tickles me as well - sitting waiting for the lights to change and the robin is giving it his all |

On a more serious note, I have heard a dunnock in territorial song already but that's about it

| | | Re: is spring coming? I heard a Great Tit singing in the garden today. No sign of anything growing, it's all covered in snow and ice.

| | | Re: is spring coming? If the builders next door stop cutting stuff with a disk cutter and turn their boom-box off, I think things are starting to move in the garden. Just like the snow caught us early, we are only about 4 weeks away from Feb 14, when birds start to pair up. Once we hit that, I was always reckoned on having half the feed left for stock, so time is moving on.

It would have to be in the ' suitable for outdoors line'.
You know, thermals & the like.
Keep an eye out on the forums, you never know!
(I'm sure stranger things must have happened around here in the past!)
