Last bonfire night I happened to be in Melbourne. The Aussies have got it right - no-one is allowed to buy fireworks for private use - all are organized displays. Result - those that like them can watch them for free, and those that hate them have peace and quiet.  |

You have got that in one Davecatt. If he had succeeded I wonder how different our lives would be. A parliament with people who really cared about Britain?

The 'folks of Oz' still adhere to many UK traditions, including insisting on Christmas trees, snowflakes, and Santas - all in 30 degrees! They celebrate bonfire night because they can, no other reason necessary |
