| | | Wicken fen Just watched Countryfile with the information and filming on this fenland. I've seen several mentions by WAB contributors who have visited it but didn't realise what a biodiverse area it was. The plan to extend it is a very good idea I think. Hopefully some new generation will take up the old practices and keep them going!

| | | Re: Wicken fen Never visited Wicken Fen but I have visited Chippenham Fen near by a truly beautiful l place, there is even a video on it, and their Water Buffalo.

| | | Re: Wicken fen I visited Wicken Fen many years ago with my parents, they were still trapping Coypu then, and Swallowtail butterflies were plentiful. The strawberries were magnificent. I also remember seeing shoals of large Bream in the waterways and numerous other wildlife around the fen, superb place.

Otherwise I can only remember large flocks of Wigeon.
