Rural Development Service were the third body in the NE merger - The ITE got seperately merged into The Centre for Ecology & Hydrology, and now form part of NERC
Incidentally CCW stands for countryside council for wales, not commision

The Nature Conservancy was part of NERC since 1965.

| Yep, it was RDS that got thrown in with English Nature and Countryside Agency. RDS used to be part of ADAS, it was the bit that wasn't privatised, it also included what is now the Dairy Hygiene Inspectorate (which I think is now part of the Food Standards Agency). ADAS, of course, used to be the Agricultural Development and Advisory Service and before that it was NAAS the National Agricultural Advisory Service...it's just one big alphabet soup! | | | |
