Click on the Gallery link within the above link to see the 12 green icons nominated by the Environment Agency. I think my favourites from the initial 12 are Otter and Barn Owl.
However, if I understand this correctly it appears that other nominations can be made and voted on before the closing date of 5th January 2007. Icons of the Environment

| | | Re: Ballot to find our greenest icon Yes, that's probably the best natural symbol - the other animals (and large blues) are such local things that they can't symbolise everything. I suppose that bluebell woods are also rather limited but *ought* to be everywhere!
However, it's talking about 'green' icons rather than just 'natural' ones so I've nominated a railway train! Quote:
