3 simple things we can do to help save the environment!

Hey everyone!

I found a good site where they list 3 things that you can do right now to help save the environment. Now the good part with this site is also that you can sign with your name there that you have done this change... and it will appear on the site so that everyone will know that you have done your part.

You can tell all your friends about this site easily and then eventually you might all have your names there

As a message it's confused, confusing and misleading. The idea that climate change (presumably that's the 'threat' that the planet needs saving from) can be addressed merely by domestic consumers cutting (how much ?) their energy use and planing trees is so crass that one might almost believe that Saving This Planet was a spoiler site set up by climate change deniers.

The site's owner (a resident of Finland) is no doubt well meaning but he's not adding anything helpful to the cause of actually dealing with human ove consumption.

Hi burnt face (Is this sunburn from global warming?) There is onlt one great overriding way for man to go green. Limmit his family to two kids. No other method is any better than anything else. Take lightbulbs. The new ones contain poisonous metals, and also only give half as much light. So we buy and use twice as many. Even if this would still save on electricity it ups the weight of garbage and the energy needed to dispose of it. If you look at any so called saving you are always going to find as many cons as pros.- except that of limmiting the human population.

Save the environment?Have the snip! Less people, less Pollution! Then something else comes along.

..Eerrrmmm.....There wasn't a problem with global warming many years ago, because life was different, and until we stop this 'throw-away' society, how can it get any better?

If we want to save British Wildlife , We must all stop the Not in my back yard attitude to Molluscs and Insects ,foxes, badgers etc or the whole Food chain will crumble as our gardens take up so much land .We cannot Pick and choose which parts of Nature we want ,It comes as a whole package or not at all ! If you leave it alone you will find that it forms its own balance .For instance I dont have to worry about Slugs and snails anymore as I have hedgehogs and frogs and newts and thrushes to clean them up for me .

I already do that and more.
I eat few meat, I dont use too much energy (my life is spartan).
One thing these sites do not write down (or almost never) is: do not buy things you dont need.
Because having 2 or more ipods, mobiles phones, tvs, computers, etc etc are destroying natural ressources and human societies in poor countries. For example the diamond mines, quel horreur!!
