| | | Re: Couple of newsbites yes, the wildlife corridor would be a good step in the right direction. They use them in Canada, although there are lot of natural ones, they use them to enable wildlife to cross the highways, and have done for years. They are now going to make a corridor from Yukon territory in the North, all the way down to Yellowstone in the USA.......huge!!
I think its great Britain is going to implement an idea that has proved successful overseas.
About the cow and methane problem....if we can somehow find a way to reduce the amount of gas they produce, then brilliant. I asume , as in humans, different foods = lots or little gas, so maybe the cows diet needs to change??? |

And what sort of comment is "How much milk yield is a Red Squirrel worth?"

it's what annoys me about new developments/car parks etc. They think it's ok to bulldoze an area if they plants some greenery. Some places must spend thousands on plants but nothing can live on them because they'll get squashed getting from one bit to another and in the end it just looks better aesthetically without being much use. |

| | | Re: Couple of newsbites Green corridors have a history of being ignored when it comes to developers and local as well as national governments. We have one surrounding London. It was a brilliant idea at the time and came with bullet proof laws to protect it. Now it’s half the size, and getting smaller every year. |

| | | Re: Couple of newsbites Green corridors are a must, just look at a map of your area and you will see
isolated green areas. These must be connected, I do keep on I know but
you will only see more wildlife if they can move around, breed and feed
within these corridors
Plant your hedges (large or small),lobby your council encourage your local
schools to grow native hedging green corridors promote wildlife
