What is your natural environment?

Coastal sand dunes for me - little house nestling behind them with a huge sky and lots of weather and wildlife.

So why do I live in Hertfordshire, you chorus

I like anywhere wild and open, moorland or coastal. However, my little cottage tucked away in a small village which is nevertheless close to all amenities (as the estate agents say) suits me very well.
Living in the North East, when I travel I invariably head further north and west, which says something about the kind of places I like. I could easily live in a gypsy caravan with wood burning stove, don't need much else in the way of modern living.

That's the day - at night. No street lights, and masses of sky full of stars and the sound of the owls calling to each other, waders out on the tide and a full moon to view it all by!

Is this Heaven? I hope so.

This sounds like where my parents live, Montana, big sky country it is called. The only thing is, they don't get the tide..........

It's got to be the Lincolnshire wolds for me. I live on the edge of the wolds and love nothing better than to get out for a walk onto the wolds. Peace and solitude are the order of the day especially on an early morning walk when all that can be heard are the Skylarks singing above and other birds calling from time to time. It's a lovely place to relax and take in those big blue skies that Lincolnshire is known for and be alone with your own thoughts.

Many people have the idea that Lincolnshire is flat and boring. There certainly aren't any mountains but there are hills a plenty and it's far from boring.

Its very interesting to see what a range of environments people feel most at home in. So many great examples. It also shows what diverse and interesting places we have in this country. Makes me want to visit them all. Though tonight, under duvet is first on my list
