| | | Eco Towns I see on the local news that there are plans to build so-called 'eco towns' here in the south east. Yes, I know that the new buildings will be 'eco-friendly' but what exactly is 'eco' about building on countryside?
As for the Whitehill/Bordon plans featured on BBC South Today this evening, I know that some of it will go on old Army land, but a lot will be built on woodland and farmland. The UK is overcrowded, especially the south east, there's no getting away from it, but the prospect of all this building (there's not just the so-called 'eco towns but millions of other new houses the government wants built) is frightening.
