| | | Re: Tree Preservation Orders (use them ) Why not indeed, it would seem that there is a a lack of training or (heaven forbid) a tacit nod to the developers but I have no evidence either way .
From other posts it seems "bought" surveyors ( as in hired by the developers)
do miss a lot anyway, through lack of time or training? In this case the contractors had removed the roof already and there was no TPO on the tree

| | | Re: Tree Preservation Orders (use them ) Perhaps a call to the local planning dept. and enquire as to why they do not appear to be following guidelines and ask what policy they use to determine EPS, Tree, Geology, Architectural etc. issues with applications.
I'm not aware of any interest group akin to bat groups who could lobby on behalf of trees. |

| | | Re: Tree Preservation Orders (use them ) I do not know which planning dept was involved except it was not local, just that the roof was taken off and the tree removed (as it was related back to me) This incident took place 2-3 years ago

| | | Re: Tree Preservation Orders (use them ) Perhaps, and hopefully, the system has improved. To get back to your original request, we do take trees for granted and it's a good idea to request TPO's.
Just one last comment - the fairly new hotel on the southern A6 approach to Kendal was fined a couple of years ago for damaging yew trees on their northern boundary. During the development diggers had removed banking too close to the trees and cut off all the roots on one side. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
