| | | Mike James's Eco-Eden Just caught an episode of this program where they were taking an inner city garden ,removing the concrete and using recycled materials to restore a proper welcoming, water absorbing, flowergarden.
Many inner city gardens have a surface area of 86% concrete, no wonder there is so much flooding with all that run off
UK TV Gardens.co.uk for hints and tips

| | | Re: Mike James's Eco-Eden Sounds like a very good idea nightshade. I can never understand why peeps want concreted gardens, certainly not good for the water table as you say.

| | | Re: Mike James's Eco-Eden Great idea but where do you get concrete slabs re-cycled.
I took up all the ones that were in my garden and I couldn't find anywhere to take them. The coucil wanted to charge me 30 quid per 3 slabs to take them away which would have cost me 300 quid
I ended up giving them to my neighbour.

| | | Re: Matt James's Eco-Eden I should change the title it is actually MATT James Ooops! (done)
I find some of his stuff quite interesting but the concrete slabs were replaced with............ prettier concrete slabs admittedly less of them.
I found that an advertisment or three in local free papers or Trade it usually moves most things, an old rotten garden shed was dismantled and taken to swindon from here in Keynsham
