I thought this development had been declined a while back? I always thought SSSI's gave a location an element of safety from these developments. Obviously not.

I would suspect that Mr. Trump's definition of an SSSI would be: -

Site for Securing Substantial Income.

I agree with all the above, how on earth can this have been given the go ahead. A wonder which Scottish MPs will be given life time membership? Once again all the rules are broken or disregarded for money.
Where does this leave every other SSSI or protected area or species in the country? With no hope at all.

Oh I know....... very depressing. Most developers won't bother trying to include a SSSI within the development footprint. I can only hope this doesn't change that!

Absolutely shameful, even if it does help the local economy.
He could have avoided the SSSI , but said that he wanted full approval or not at all, if I remember correctly.

Backhanders?
I hope this doesnt set any precedents.

How totally depressing

SSSIs are ostensibly afforded the strongest legal protection we could possibly offer at the national level. Yet, once again greed for money wins the day. I am bereft of hope.

Sean Connery has very kindly agreed to be the first member and no doubt the celebrities will flock in in their private jets. And as ever, someone, somewhere will be monitoring the demise of this fantastic habitat to satisfy the planning requirements-oh thank god
