I don't know anything about this sorry story, but I am sure that there are others on WAB who do. I haven't found anything on WAB using a few of the more obvious searches but that may reflect my limited imagination. It's certainly worthy of note if only as a matter of commemoration and condolence.

Suicide over wildlife home plan

A mother of three killed herself after becoming upset over plans to build new homes in a wildlife haven near her home, an inquest heard.

Janet Sheen, 58, of Macclesfield, took an overdose of prescription drugs just days after having a row with a council officer at a public meeting in January.

She feared the plans would destroy an 'ecological wonderland' used by barn owls, Badgers, newts and bats.

A verdict of suicide was recorded at Macclesfield Town Hall.

Poor woman.. obviously not in a too stable state before hand but the indirect upset by the council has to be a contributory factor.

Doubt the local council will loose any sleep over it though.. as long as they get the housing go ahead and brown envolopes from the building companies..

Last thing we need is more houses.. maybe less people ?
