| | | Friends of the Lake District - opinions? Hi Guys,
I'm thinking of joining a conservation organisation in Cumbria and was contemplating 'Friends of the Lake District' but don't know much about them.
Has anyone got any opinions or experience with them?
Cheers everyone |

FLD don't do much in the way of practical, volunteer-based conservation - more campaigning.
Cumbria Wildlife Trust, on the other hand, have lots going on to get actively involved with and offer plenty of training and social stuff - and are lovely people too! There's also the local BTCV groups, and, depending on where you live, the South Lakes Rivers Trust, who are just getting going, and the Eden Rivers Trust who are also great for volunteering with. And lots of bat groups, natterjack groups and the LDNPA who organise teams for things like Himalayan Balsam pulling.
Tons of stuff! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
