I am with Whitham , Tormentil ,agrumpycow and Seajay........I and friends had a great evening sat near a heater........best barbecue for ages, you would have loved it Kayleigh ........I think we run our selves down to much , we can do our bit to save the planet, but you know when volcanoes that have been extinct for thousands of years suddenly blow, I do not regret having a little heater on. We should keep things in perspective. |

We can do nothing about volcanoes (which have always been there anyway) but we can control our own contribution to destabilisation of the atmosphere. |

| | | Re: Chelsea Flower Show Bans Patio Heaters I don't have much of a problem with people using a patio heater every now and then for a party/barbeque (though being a tight-@rse, I'd just put on a jumper),as it would probably only be used sporadically.
I really really object to pubs using them though - sometimes irrespective of whether there are people sitting outside or not. These things could be on every day, for a few hours each day, and most pubs don't just have one of them but quite a few. (Though the way fuel prices are going, I'm hoping this won't continue)
Maybe we should stop being in denial, realise we live on an island with a wet, cool-ish climate, and the Mediterranean outdoor cafe society really wasn't designed to take off here due to our pants weather. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
