I wouldn't worry about it, we won't be able to afford to run patio heaters central heating or fill up your car to get to work the way things are going.

It's not that bad Annmaria, there is a bright side. If I fill the old escort up with diesel it almost doubles in value !!

I don't have much of a problem with people using a patio heater every now and then for a party/barbeque (though being a tight-@rse, I'd just put on a jumper),as it would probably only be used sporadically.

I really really object to pubs using them though - sometimes irrespective of whether there are people sitting outside or not. These things could be on every day, for a few hours each day, and most pubs don't just have one of them but quite a few. (Though the way fuel prices are going, I'm hoping this won't continue)

Maybe we should stop being in denial, realise we live on an island with a wet, cool-ish climate, and the Mediterranean outdoor cafe society really wasn't designed to take off here due to our pants weather.
