Because if they feel so strongly about not bringing religion into forums

but if people dont discuss religion there won't be any religious adverts because the ads are intelligent and key on subjects in the text

I felt very sorry for Leifus, he did nothing wrong, he only made a simple comment expressing concern for his planet but was immediately jumped on. He was humbled into making an apology, for what I don't know, he certainly wasn't preaching or atheist bashing.
Maybe one of you moderators should climb down off your high horse and offer Leifus an apology.

As for the Google ads, these can be filtered to stop any religious content appearing, unless of course this is overlooked in favour of money earned per click.

Instead of squabbling like a set of 5 year olds, lets actually discuss what we can do to save the planet, which was the point of the thread in the first place. If it's so Jesus can have somewhere to come back to or for your grand children to have somewhere to live or so your favorite fungi can grow for ever more I don't really care, lets just get back to a happy forum.

for the record, we can't easily remove religious adverts...to get rid of them we have to spot the advert and record the url, enter it in a box of excluded links in the ad management software, and wait half a day for them to disappear. The problem is that we can only exclude a total of 200 urls and the list is already full with ads for fur coats, weapons and pest control links.

another great example of why we don't do religion on WAB. the moderator was absolutely right to try and keep these type of posts off the site. in the 3 years that we've been running the forum they've usually only ever ended in problems with strong beliefs creating big divides between members and we'd obviously like to avoid these sorts of problems.
