| | Anyone For Coffee A change in the way that Coffee gets to our cups. YouTube - GOOD Magazine: Bikes to Rwanda
I'd thought i'd post it up as i don't think we pay much mind to the hard labour involved providing us one one of our most popular drinks!

Just goes to show how a few simple bikes can improve the load and hopefully will bring the Coffee Farmers more cash for all there hardwork. One thing you notice watching the film is the community spirit in Africa. Something we're sadly loosing here in the U.K besides WAB that is

| | | Re: Anyone For Coffee Nice too to have our neighbours. They more like family. Okay so we don't talk over the garden fence but we are always there for each other. & if we (Me or my mother) aren't up there for coffee they down here with us. but i know what your saying Naturelover. I still nicely suprise senior citizens when i offer to take the supermarket trolleys back to the bays for them. I was just brought up that way!

| | | Re: Anyone For Coffee Not in South Yorkshire it hasn't - only down in the miserable south! Actually, I don't even think that's true - living in east London for many years, we had lots of very good neighbours (and a few right villains ... ) You might be talking about the 'stiff upper lip' middle class of middle England but it certainly doesn't apply to south Yorks folk (nosey, interfering gasbags perhaps but not snobbish ).
Getting back to the original point .... what is the Rwandan coffee like? I remember when we first got fair-traided coffee from Nicaragua ... it was awful! Has improved a lot now. Indeed coffee production, if you ignore Nestle, is increasingly fair-traded, organic and good tasting. Organic coffee plantations are not natural habitats but they can actually be quite good for wildlife as part of a landscape mosaic with natural forest. Quote:
