| | | Re: Anyone use "Soapnuts" for their washing? I agree with you Mark that it is a shame, but if you look through the thread you can find several new members who have posted once/twice and had their posts edited because of adverts.
It's a sad fact that many people, including 'environmentalists', will happily spam a charity's forum just to sell a few beans. We get 2 million unique visitors a year on the website and as the credit crunch takes hold we're seeing an increase in this sort of activity.
As a result, we're OK with new members posting comments about a general product without mentioning suppliers etc, but we'll usually remove links to individual suppliers. Unfortunately, we've had our fingers burnt too many times by people who are essentialy only really interested in making money.

| | | Re: Anyone use "Soapnuts" for their washing? Mark, your new post is very similar to another one on another forum this morning, also promoting the same product for the same new online shop. Hopefully you can see why your post has roused suspicions on whether this sort of thing is coincidence or spam?
I've blocked the url on this one and I think I'll send it to the spam watch groups just in case
Across WAB it looks like free advertising is becoming a problem again. It's disgraceful that some of these businesses hide behind the veil of 'Saving the Planet', when we all know that they're in it for financial rewards...absolute parasites! They give good online businesses a bad name, they give environmentalists a bad name, and there's no way we'll be supporting them.
Maybe we should start posting their URLs in a 'name and shame' section
Very sad indeed

I did try a type of mud once but trying to get it out...... |

| | | Re: Anyone use "Soapnuts" for their washing? We've been using Ecoballs for over a year now. They are green flying-saucer looking plastic things, with what looks like small gravel inside. I would say that they work about as well as detergent -- you still have to apply the stain remover to get the stains out.
I think their best benefit is that they don't smell! I hate the smells of most laundry detergents. My childminder washed my son's winter coat recently when he got it messy, and it stank for days! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
