| | | New wetland A major new coastal wetland is to be created in Essex by the RSPB. This seems to be a major project. It aims to create a salt marsh at Wallasea Island. It is claimed that it will become one Britains most important wildlife sanctuaries. Great news !

With the Rainham Marsh, Vange Marsh and Canvey West acquisitions, Essex is finally appearing on the RSPB map and our coastal landscapes and wildlife are getting the habitat management and protection that they deserve.
