Blackbrook prison fence

I visited my local reservoir ' blackbrook ' today, just to pass a few minutes in the sunshine, it is one of the nicest places in Charnwood forest, or was, this monstrocity is what greeted me. It beggars belief that Severn Trent Water are responsible for such a contraption which is an absolute eyesore. Does this sort of thing happen where you are ?

No my friend, that is a Charnwood Forest beauty spot visited by people from all over the world, this is the impression they take home with them. !!!

Just to put the record straight , there is another of these abortions at the other end of the bridge, I didnt bother to include a picture of it as it is virtually the same.

sorry but because the heading was ( blackbrook prison fence ) i run away with the idea it was a prison wall,if thats a place of beauty they have killed it, who ever put that eyesore up wants shooting, you say its something to do with a water company,they dont give a dam these days do they,makes you cross.

Simple reply, I dont know. Maybe to prevent people entering the hallowed sanctum, a local shoot think they own the place. If it is for this purpose its a failure, a few yards away is a grass bank that is easily climbable, even by me and thats it, you are in. It cant be to stop people falling off the bridge, its in the wrong place for that, perhaps somebody had a few hundred quid of our money going begging, who knows. It would be money better spent repairing leaks I would have thought.

Has there been a problem with people driving motorbikes/ cars across the area? That would seem the only feasible explanation to me.

It certainly looks a bit of a joke. Why not report it to the water authority, if it's not theirs, they may remove it. If it is theirs , then get the local press involved, if they can see an angle for a story, they might be of help.
