I can`t get wind turbine far enough away from my house so this is my next line of inquiry.

Do you get the Feed In Tariff South of the Border?
Dave | Yes Dave, we get probably too much wind here. Often 50/60 mph for days with gusts to 90mph and above. Not suitable for most small wind-turbines. Then of course we can go days without any wind at all!
So hydro- power seemed the best bet. But at a cost of 50k for an entry level set-up, ( and neither of us are young-uns'), the recouping of capital expenditure would take more years than we have left for sure.
