Sorry, off topic again.

| | | Re: Is the price of petrol putting you off travelling to enjoy the countryside? The best suggestions here are to try and team up with other birders for a long trip Deb. To stay secure I guess that has to be with those you know well, or it's going to take time to build up to that.
But two instead of one puts you back into the era of paying 66p a litre. And a car with three paying takes you back to 44p.
And that gives you the flexibility that public transport cannot. Arriving at dawn to try and catch a Barn Owl still out hunting! And choosing how long you stay.
Bit red faced about my own use of a car. Too much I guess.
But I do worry about the pollution I cause and over the last ten years have moved from a Land Rover Discovery, (26 mpg), through a Golf, 48-50 mpg, to my current Polo, 57-62 mpg, (not the average 70 mpg I should be getting. Yet!). All diesels.

Chris | He was certainly right wing, but I think to say he was a fan of Hitler is probably a bit strong. He was quite a friend of T.E. Lawrence, and seems to have slipped from view a bit.
