| | | ROCs, FITs and getting paid for power I've got a 6kw wind turbine which generates very well. However I've had horrendous problems with Scottish & Southern Energy and am owed a heck of a lot of money for the power I've generated.
Does anyone else have this problem ? They refuse to answer my emails and have been a nightmare from Day 1 (when the meters were installed wrongly).

| | | Re: ROCs, FITs and getting paid for power I do not trust e-mail when it comes to making a claim or complaint, put it in writing, keep a copy and get proof of posting. Even telephoning is more efficient than e-mail! get a name and their position within the company and the same again with any transferred calls. Log dates and times. Calling at the premises personally and demanding to be seen is worth a try, if you don't have the time you don't really want the money

I once heard AMs described as "a sort of electronic wastepaper basket".
They gave us an answering machine system at work - but you could only use it if you attended a two hour instruction course! I didn't attend - but they still hooked the system up to my extension, so people could leave me messages that I was unable to receive!

| | | Re: ROCs, FITs and getting paid for power I did find a complaints telephone number yesterday and gave them a call. At least I now have a reading that they used when last paying me at the end of March 2010.
Microgeneration also confirmed that "I am on the list" of contracts waiting to be sent out under the new FITs - so why didn't they have the decency to tell me that by email !
So that's nine months' worth of power they owe me for; what a shambles.
Incidentally, nightshade, I live on an island in the Hebrides and am also disabled - so the chances of "calling at their premises" is a non-starter. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
